THE SOLUTION

A free mobile app that sought to promote emergent literacy and school readiness by encouraging parents and caregivers to read aloud to their young children between 0-8 years of age.

A LEARNING PILOT

The program was designed as a learning pilot structured to gather insights into the types of support parents and caregivers needed to adopt digital reading and to understand how the application could effectively scale to the millions of families in India lacking access to quality children’s books.

DEMOGRAPHY

Low-income communities in and around Delhi, the capital city of India. The program reached over 203,000 households via the Read to Kids App across 177 low-income communities in Delhi
