The concept of a semi-structured bag inspired by celebrated Indian apparel designer Anita Dongre's work.

THE CHALLENGE

Translating the work of an Apparel Designer into a bag that is synonymous with their collection.

THE SOLUTION

A semi-structured bag with a combination of leather and Indian textiles to represent Anita Dongre's Urban Ethnic collections.

INSPIRATION: ANITA DONGRE

Anita Dongre is the founder of House of Anita Dongre which is today recognized as India's leading fashion house. 

Silhouettes: A combination of structured tops/tunics with classic Indian Ghaghras (circle skirts).

PRODUCT CONCEPT

A combination of Anita Dongre's design philosophy, techniques and the consumers personal style have contributed to the final design.

FORM

The semi structured form of the bag has been derived from the geometric silhouettes of her runway collections.

HARDWARE

An adaption of her drawstring bags, leathers belts with adjustable buckles to gather the fabric and fasten.

MATERIAL

Ikat embroidered fabric, raw silk, antique gold finish hardware, calf leather and sheet metal for structure.
